Emily Muniz, a student at NYU College of Arts and Science, is interning as a community outreach specialist and mental health advocate at the nonprofit organization Growth and Development Services in New York City this summer. The organization provides support and resources for adolescents facing social injustice, family instability, and mental health challenges. Emily is working on public speaking and advocacy skills while collaborating with public officials to advance initiatives for restoring equity in the educational system. She aspires to attend law school in pursuit of her dream to become a lawyer and fashionista, inspired by the movie Legally Blonde.
