**Town of Greece Observes Patriot Day on September 11, 2024**

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the Town of Greece will mark the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks that targeted the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93, which crashed in suburban Pennsylvania. This day is recognized as Patriot Day, a time to remember and honor the lives lost during the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

In observance of Patriot Day, all American flags on town property will be lowered to half-staff. The community is encouraged to reflect on the significance of this day.

In remembrance, the town will share a poem titled "Ground Zero," written by New York poet Robert Creeley. The poem conveys themes of loss, memory, and perseverance.

The Town of Greece emphasizes the importance of remembering the men and women lost on this day and assures the community that their memories will never be forgotten.
