Flooding Reported at NYU's 721 Broadway Building

Staff Report / nyclocal.org

A notification from New York University reports a flooding incident at 721 Broadway due to problems with a valve during repairs of the standpipe and sprinkler systems. The flooding has affected floors 1 to 5 of the building. Additionally, there is some water damage reported in the neighboring building at 725 Broadway, which shares a wall with 721.

Personnel are currently on-site to address both the plumbing issues and the water cleanup, and they will continue their work throughout the night.

As a result of the flooding, some classes from the Tisch School of the Arts may need to be relocated today and tomorrow. University staff are in the process of contacting affected students and faculty with updates regarding any changes to their schedules.
