Equity in Contracting Session Promotes Business Opportunities

Los Angeles County held an Equity in County Contracting Listening Session last month at the Castaic Library, aimed at promoting equitable opportunities in the County’s contracting process. More than 30 organizations attended the event, including nonprofits, community-based and faith-based organizations, and new vendors.
The session included several key activities:
- Presentations on accomplishments and updates from the Equity in County Contracting (ECC) initiative.
- Real-time guidance was provided on the registration and certification processes for vendors.
- The Department of Health Services (DHS) discussed open contracting opportunities available to local businesses.
- The focus was on creating pathways for underrepresented businesses to participate in County contracting.
The event emphasized the importance of transforming County procurement practices by enhancing support programs and fostering positive community change.
