The Veterans Memorial of North Port was established to honor the men and women who served their country. This memorial was erected on May 26, 2003, at Veterans Park in North Port, Florida, in memory of all veterans from the North Port area.

On Veterans Day, the North Port Police Department participated in a ceremony organized by VFW Post 8203. Police Chief Todd Garrison delivered a message recognizing the contributions of veterans who have served or continue to serve in the armed forces. He emphasized their commitment to protecting freedoms and national security, aligning with the core values of the North Port Police Department.

Chief Garrison expressed gratitude towards veterans in the department, acknowledging the skills and discipline they bring, which are essential to the police mission. He encouraged the community to show appreciation for veterans, honoring their service and recognizing their impact both in military roles and within the community.

The North Port Police Department expressed deep appreciation for all veterans, stating that their service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
