Westerville Library Joins Central Library Consortium

Staff Report / cbuslocal.org

Westerville Public Library is preparing to join the Central Library Consortium (CLC) starting Friday, November 15. This change will allow Westerville patrons to access additional items through the Columbus Metropolitan Library system, which currently shares around five million items among 17 member libraries.

Due to the catalog merging process, several library services will be temporarily suspended over the weekend:

- Self-checkout will not be available; library staff will assist with checking out items.

- No items will be due during this period.

- New holds on items will not be processed.

- Access to "My Account" online will be unavailable, along with checking account status by phone.

- Online applications for library cards will also be paused.

Library officials expect all services to be restored by 12 p.m. on Monday, November 18. During the transition, patrons may still apply for a library card in person, use public computers, book meeting rooms, access eContent, and search the catalog, though item availability may vary.

This update marks an expansion of services for Westerville Public Library users.
