**Brighton Firefighters Deployed to Southern California for Wildfire Assistance**

Brighton Fire Rescue’s Wildland Team has been deployed to Southern California to aid in combating devastating wildfires ravaging the area. Early this morning, a strike team consisting of five brush trucks from various fire departments along the Front Range, including Brighton Fire, mobilized to assist in the operations.

Among the Brighton firefighters deployed are Blake Mertz, Logan Alberti, and Leon Miller. They are expected to spend at least two weeks on the front lines, working to suppress the destructive blazes. Depending on the severity of the situation, their deployment may extend beyond this period.

The wildfires in California have already caused significant loss of life and property, prompting urgent actions from fire rescue teams across the country. Brighton Fire Rescue reminds its community to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures to reduce wildfire risks at home, especially during windy conditions.

For resources on how to make your home more resilient to wildfires, a video previously shared by the department can be accessed [here](https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AmVGCMDeN/). Additionally, residents are encouraged to stay informed by signing up for emergency alerts through the Brighton Fire Rescue’s website: [Sign Up for Emergency Alerts](https://brightonfire.org/sign-up-for-emergency-alerts/).

Brighton Fire Rescue extends its thoughts to those affected by the wildfires and wishes for the safe return of all deployed firefighters and first responders.
