Renowned artist and activist Faith Ringgold, known for her advocacy for Black women, passed away at the age of 93. The St. Nicholas Park basketball court located on 140th St in Harlem was inspired by her 1970s abstract work titled “Windows of the Wedding #1”. The court's design pays homage to Ringgold's artistic legacy and is a tribute to her birthplace in Harlem. Images of the court are provided by Project Blackboard.
