**Phoenix Police Officer Nick Erfle Remembered on Anniversary of His Death**
Today marks the anniversary of the tragic death of Phoenix Police Officer Nick Erfle, who was killed in the line of duty on September 18, 2007. Officer Erfle was shot after he and his partner approached three individuals for jaywalking and obstructing traffic on 24th Street, near Thomas Road.
At the time of his death, Officer Erfle had served with the Phoenix Police Department for eight years. He is survived by his wife and two children.
