Han Kang, a South Korean author, has been awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature. The prize recognizes her "intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life." Han Kang is known for her notable works, including "The Vegetarian," which won the Man Booker International Prize, and "Human Acts," among others. Her latest book, "The White Book," was also front-listed for the Man Booker International Prize. Additionally, her novel "Greek Lessons" was translated by Deborah Smith and Jayne L. Chung. Han Kang's work has received critical acclaim, including recognition in the New York Times Book Review's list of the 10 Best Books of 2017.
