Community Ownership Summit Set for November 14

A Community Ownership Virtual Summit is set to take place on November 14, hosted by the Small Business Anti-Displacement Network. The event will focus on community ownership models and their importance in empowering local residents to manage commercial assets, land, and enterprises.
The panel for the summit includes Holly Mitchell, Supervisor of Los Angeles County's Second District, Kelly Lobianco, Director of the LA County Department of Economic Opportunity, Doug Smith, Senior Director of Policy and Legal Strategy at Neighborhoods for Social Justice Action, and Caroline Torossian, Program Manager for Economic Development at the LA County Board of Supervisors.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from small business advocates and policy experts who have played significant roles in passing funding measures, such as the Commercial Acquisition Fund, aimed at supporting and expanding community ownership.
