Brighton Declares October Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Staff Report / Brightonlocal.org
Brighton City Council has officially proclaimed October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This announcement was made last night, highlighting the collaborative efforts of the Brighton Police Department and the Brighton Office for Victim Assistance (BOVA). Both organizations are part of the 17th Judicial District Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT), which includes law enforcement and various community organizations.
The DVHRT is dedicated to providing essential services to survivors of domestic violence, helping them navigate different systems to access the support they need.
Community members are encouraged to raise awareness and have conversations about domestic violence. Resources are available at www.thehotline.org/support-others/talk-about-abuse for those looking to get involved.
For additional information on support services for victims of sexual and domestic violence in Adams County, visit www.adamsbroomfieldda.org/Sexual-Violence-and-Domestic-Violence.
