Join NYPL's Freedom to Read Rally October 19!

The New York Public Library (NYPL) is hosting a "Freedom to Read" rally on Saturday, October 19. This event is part of a nationwide movement against book bans and is described as their biggest Day of Action ever. The rally will be held on the steps of the NYPL and will be hosted by drag legend Sasha Velour.
Special guests at the event will include authors Peter Parnell and Justin Richardson, known for their book “And Tango Makes Three.” The rally will feature book giveaways, music, activities, and more.
In total, more than 100 events and activations are planned across the United States on this day, with the goal of affirming the belief that the freedom to read is an American value that needs protection.
