The Jacksonville City Council has honored the P.R.I.D.E Book Club with a Certificate of Commendation for their thirty-one years of dedication to promoting literacy, diversity, and community connection. The book club, which stands for "People Reading for Inspiration, Discussion, and Enjoyment," has brought together readers from various backgrounds to engage in meaningful discussions, particularly focusing on African American literature.

The commendation highlights how the P.R.I.D.E Book Club has fostered a sense of inclusivity and intellectual curiosity, positively impacting the lives of residents in Jacksonville. Council member Rahnan K. Johnson presented the certificate on November 9, 2024, acknowledging the club's remarkable milestone and wishing them continued success in the future.

The Jacksonville Public Library also expressed its support for the P.R.I.D.E Book Club, celebrating the role of community book clubs in enhancing literacy and inspiring readers.
