Towing Company Owner Arrested for Grand Theft

Staff Report / jaxlocal.org

Vicente "Vince" Serrano, the owner of ASAP Towing, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of grand theft and organized fraud. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) conducted an investigation that revealed from 2020 to 2024, Serrano underreported the proceeds from vehicle sales and inflated fees, leading to a loss of $193,958.54 to the State of Florida. Serrano was accused of withholding sale proceeds from the Clerk of Court, which is required by law.

In July, JSO Auto Crimes detectives executed search warrants at four ASAP Towing locations in Jacksonville as part of the investigation. Serrano turned himself in on Wednesday morning and was later booked into the Duval County Jail. The prosecution of the case will be handled by the State Attorney’s Office.
