Scottsdale Firefighters Return After Assisting Idaho Wildfires

Scottsdale Firefighters have returned home after spending 14 days assisting in Region 4, Idaho. This region was at Preparedness Level 5 (PL5), which indicates the highest level of fire danger and need for assistance. During their deployment, Scottsdale fire crews worked on several active wildfires.

One of the major fires they addressed, the Wapiti Fire, has burned a total of 125,459 acres. As of Sunday morning, fire crews have managed to achieve 29% containment and confinement of the fire. The experience and knowledge gained during this operation are expected to aid Scottsdale's front line crews in future firefighting efforts.
