Officer Robert V. Cummins Honored in Tucson

Tucson Police Department in Tucson, AZ honored Officer Robert V. Cummins today. He tragically passed away on September 7, 1936, at the age of 37. Officer Cummins was involved in a motorcycle accident while returning from escorting an American Legion parade in Phoenix. The accident occurred at the intersection of Van Buren and 16th Street due to loose gravel. He suffered serious injuries and died three days later. Officer Cummins, a World War I veteran, left behind his wife and four children. His service and sacrifice will always be remembered by the community.
