A mother-daughter duo from Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) is making headlines as they continue a family tradition in education. Dionne Fernandez has been part of TUSD for 30 years, with the last 25 years spent at Frances J Warren Elementary School. Her daughter, Leah Fernandez, attended Warren as a child and has worked alongside her mother for the past 11 years.

Leah is currently pregnant with her first child and expressed her hope that her daughter will also attend Warren Elementary in the future, where her mother and grandmother are still teaching. This connection showcases a multi-generational commitment to education within the TUSD community.

The district emphasizes classroom rules such as paying attention, being respectful, raising hands, and following classroom guidelines.
