Tucson's Corridor Tools Aim to Revitalize Development

Staff Report / Tucsonlocal.org

The City of Tucson's Planning and Development Services is initiating a project called Corridor Redevelopment Tools aimed at revitalizing development along major thoroughfares. The project has several key goals, including reducing obstacles to affordable housing, encouraging transit-oriented development to meet climate objectives, updating zoning to support diverse housing types, and streamlining the redevelopment of underused sites.

The proposed changes aim to update the Zoning Code to align with the city's established plans and policies, focusing on transforming underutilized spaces into vibrant mixed-use areas. Residents can learn more about the project and provide their feedback by visiting corridors.tucsonaz.gov.
